Since 1972, The Burn Institute of San Diego has been working to reduce the number of fire-related injuries and deaths in San Diego County. Some of their programs include survivor counseling, burn education and installing free smoke alarms in homes for the elderly. A few of the many great volunteer opportunities include installing smoke alarms, helping out at a camp for burn survivors who are children and attending fun monthly outings like movies and baseball games with burn victims.
