UCSD Hearts & Hands Volunteer Doula Program

A doula is a birth assistant which helps a woman with emotional support during childbirth. While doulas are not typically doctors or nurses, they can help ease the stress and even pain associated with birth. At the UCSD Hearts & Hands Volunteer Doula Program, volunteers support women, who might not be able to afford that type of individual care, in every step of their birth. To find out about volunteering or to make a donation to the program, visit http://sandiegodoulas.org/
